After a four-day journey of practical experience, learning, teaching, and networking with a couple of universities in Nha Trang city, what remains in me is a beautiful memory—a truly beneficial internship. This trip not only deepened my understanding of our field but also equipped me with communication and interpersonal skills, helping me gain a clearer insight into teaching in real-world settings. Furthermore, working with the lecturers at Nha Trang University left each of us in awe of their professional pedagogical skills, from their actions and gestures to their words, they all exuded the qualities of diligent, dedicated individuals.

  As a MATESOL student, I aspire to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom to practical scenarios, continuing the legacy of being educators in Vietnam. To have such a meaningful and beneficial trip requires meticulous planning and attention to detail from the lecturers at the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City. From the schedule, transportation, dining options, accommodation, to sightseeing locations, we all made thorough preparations because we were aware that this wasn't just an ordinary field trip. It was an opportunity for each of us to reorient ourselves toward our careers and equip ourselves with the necessary tools to pursue our dreams.

I was deeply impressed by the special gala evening, especially the speeches by the leaders from various universities. They not only shared insights into the English teaching profession but also imparted valuable soft skills advice for achieving the highest effectiveness in our work. The sharing and knowledge exchange between students and experienced educators were vibrant, with numerous questions related to practical teaching methods being answered persuasively and clearly by the lecturers.

  During the gala evening, all students had the chance to network with leaders and lecturers from various universities in Nha Trang. Initially, I might have perceived these educators as strict and unapproachable, but in reality, they were incredibly approachable. They demonstrated not only expertise in their field but also exceptional soft skills. I learned an important lesson – that expertise alone is not enough to succeed in society; soft skills, flexibility, and dynamism in both work and life are equally crucial.

Moreover, the visit to the Thap Ba Ponagar Temple the next day allowed us to broaden our horizons. The detailed explanations from our guides about the history and culture related to the temple were insightful. The tour guides were friendly, addressing our questions and inquiries meticulously, leaving us with a richer understanding.

  Perhaps I will find it difficult to forget this meaningful practical trip. After this experience, I have a clearer understanding of my field of study, the knowledge gaps I need to fill, and the skills I must further develop. I have developed a deeper appreciation for the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City. If given the chance to choose again, I would undoubtedly select the same path – the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City.
