NHA TRANG UNIVERSITY (NTU)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Nha Trang University (NTU) is one of the leading education institutions in central Vietnam. NTU was founded in 1959 and was formerly known as the Faculty of Water Products of Ha Noi Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. It was not until 2006, that the school was renamed Nha Trang University and played an important role in providing a qualified workforce in the local area. NTU provides 50 training programs in different fields including long-term and short-term training courses.

MISSION- VISION

NTU focuses on the mission of scientific research and training human resources that are highly qualified and have multi-disciplinary knowledge transfer. More important, NTU also enhances the strength of marine science and technology.

When it comes to the core values in education, there are five main elements that NTU

emphasizes: Pioneering - Solidarity - Integration - Dynamism - Responsibility

Regarding the education philosophy, NTU aims to develop professionalism, creativity, and responsibility in the integrating environment. Besides, the institution also combines professional practice with community.

By 2045, NTU has a future vision to become a high-ranked university in Vietnam and become one of the leading universities in Asia that is considered the top educational institution in science technology and marine and water products.

PRACTICUM TRIP 2023

Our practicum trip was an exhilarating and enriching experience that took us on a journey of professional growth and cultural exploration. From the moment we arrived in the vibrant city of Nha Trang, Vietnam, to our departure back to Ho Chi Minh City, each day was filled with a diverse range of activities and opportunities for learning and bonding.

Day 1: Arrival and Workshop at Nha Trang University

On the first day, we arrived in Nha Trang, eager to begin our practicum adventure. In the morning, we had the privilege of visiting Nha Trang University, where we were welcomed with warm hospitality. The university visit set the tone for our trip, giving us insights into the local educational landscape.

In the afternoon, we dove right into our first activity – the Workshop at Nha Trang University. This engaging session, filled with presentations, discussions, and poster presentations, allowed us to showcase our expertise, interact with local teachers, and foster academic exchange.

Day 2: Teaching Observations and Microteaching at Nha Trang University

The second day was dedicated to a deeper understanding of teaching methodologies and practices. In the morning, we attended teaching observations at Nha Trang University, where we observed and absorbed valuable insights from experienced educators. It was a rich learning experience that broadened our horizons.

In the afternoon, we faced the challenging yet exciting Microteaching task at Nha Trang University. Each member of our team had the opportunity to present concise, 10 to 15-minute teaching sessions, further honing our pedagogical skills and adapting to diverse audiences.

Day 3: Local Sightseeing, TBD University, and Gala Dinner

Balancing our professional commitments, we took a break from academia on the third day to explore the local culture and beauty of Nha Trang. In the morning, we visited a captivating local sightseeing site, immersing ourselves in the region's history and natural wonders. The rest of the morning was spent visiting Thai Binh Duong University, where we had the chance to meet up with friendly lecturers and exchange some precious information.

In the evening, we had the privilege of attending the Gala Dinner, a highlight of our trip. This elegant event combined delectable cuisine with entertainment provided by our fellow participants, showcasing their talents and fostering a sense of camaraderie. The gift and certificate presentation added a touch of celebration to the evening.

Seafood Delights in Nha Trang City:

Nha Trang City is renowned for its coastal location, and no visit would be complete without indulging in the local seafood delicacies. Throughout our stay, we relished the flavors of the sea.

For breakfasts, our 3-star hotel treated us to a delightful buffet, offering a range of traditional options. The morning spread was a perfect start to our days, providing a taste of the local culinary treasures.

Lunches and dinners were equally exquisite affairs as we explored local seafood restaurants. From the bustling local markets to cozy seaside eateries, we sampled an array of dishes prepared with the freshest catches of the day. Grilled squid, steamed clams, and aromatic fish soups were just a few of the mouthwatering choices we enjoyed. These dining experiences not only satisfied our taste buds but also allowed us to savor the authentic flavors of Nha Trang and bond over our shared love for seafood.

Day 4: Departure

On the fourth day, we bid farewell to Nha Trang City in the early morning, carrying with us memories, new friendships, and a wealth of experiences. Our journey back to Ho Chi Minh City was a reflective one, as we contemplated the knowledge gained, the friendships forged, and the growth achieved during our practicum trip.

Our trip was a perfect blend of professional development and cultural exploration, leaving an indelible mark on our personal and academic journeys. It was an honor to be a part of this transformative experience, and we look forward to applying our newfound knowledge and skills in our future endeavors.
